In contrast, a laryngeal mask airway relies on an inflatable cuff to seal around the glottic opening, and an endotracheal tube uses an inflatable cuff to seal the trachea. A bag-valve mask is just a mask for noninvasive ventilation and does not involve a cuff at all.
